From June 24–26, 2025, Satenik Kharatyan, an employee of the scientific center, participated in a workshop held in Tbilisi, Georgia, organized by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) for national wildlife coordinators of Europe and Central Asia.
The workshop brought together representatives from 53 countries across Europe and Asia, as well as sectoral experts from WOAH and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization). The purpose of the event was to establish and strengthen cooperation among participating countries in the field of wildlife health.
During the theoretical sessions, effective mechanisms for monitoring wildlife health were presented, along with best practices for rapid response to disease outbreaks, and the existing challenges were highlighted.
During group work sessions, participants identified current gaps in regional cooperation, which were summarized and documented for further discussion. The proposed solutions will, in turn, be discussed during upcoming online meetings coordinated by WOAH SRR-Brussels.
