The “Scientific Center for Risk Assessment and Analysis in the Field of Food Safety” CJSC has been authorized for a period of 5 years to carry out risk assessment in the field of veterinary medicine, based on indicators of diseases of viral and bacterial origin (Order No. 3480-A of the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia dated November 14, 2025).
The authorization of the scientific organization to conduct risk assessment in the veterinary field is of primary importance for ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of data in the veterinary sector of the Republic. This will enable the Food Safety Inspectorate to carry out state supervision based on the risks assessed by the scientific organization, by selecting and applying appropriate measures aimed at preventing, eliminating, or reducing risks. It will also allow the policy-making body to implement legislative reforms based on the results of the risk assessment.
These measures are aimed at preventing hazards that pose negative impacts on human life and health, as well as on animal health and welfare.
