What is the state registration expertise of feed additives

The state registration expertise of feed additives is a process during which the safety and efficacy of feed additives are assessed, as well as their impact on animal health. The results of the expertise serve as the basis for a decision on state registration or refusal of registration, which is carried out by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. The expertise is conducted by the Scientific Center in accordance with RA Government Decision No. 1077-N dated July 11, 2024.

 

Who can apply

The following may apply for expertise:

• feed additive manufacturers
• importers
• legal or natural persons authorized to submit an application

 

How to apply

The applicant must submit an application in accordance with Form No. 1, attaching:

• instructions for use of the feed additive, including description, biological properties, usage, and manufacturer information
• specifications, safety indicators, and research methods
• results of toxicological and stability studies
• protocol of feed additive samples
• for imported products — a certified document from the exporter/manufacturer
• power of attorney if submitted by a third party
• Armenian translation of documents in foreign languages
• documents submitted electronically or, if necessary, in paper form

 

Further processing of the application

The Scientific Center reviews the documents and conducts expertise within up to 90 working days.
The expert conclusion is submitted to the Ministry for final decision-making.
Positive conclusion — registration is granted, benefit outweighs risk.
Negative conclusion — registration is refused, risk outweighs expected benefit.
In case of registration, the applicant receives a state registration certificate within 3 days.
The registration becomes effective from the date of entry and is considered indefinite (except for additives containing genetically modified organisms).
Grounds for refusal, suspension, or termination are defined by regulation — negative expert conclusion, non-compliance, or expiration of GMO-related terms.
